Focus Moving Services Inc. is one of a few moving companies in Canada that specialize in Overseas Moving. Our office and operations staff are trained to coordinate and service shipments to and from anywhere in the World!
We offer several different types of services and shipment options to move our customer’s belongings overseas.
Full Packing Service: Our staff will pack the entire content of your home and have everything ready to be safely moved!
Partial Packing Service: Often customers decide they would like to pack “non breakable” items such as clothes, books, pots/pans etc… and have our staff pack up the items that could potentially incur damage while in transit if not packed correctly; such as dishware, ornaments, collectibles, pictures, electronics etc.
No Packing: Our staff are happy to load, transport and deliver your household goods and personal effects that our customers pack on their own!
Air Freight: Air Freight shipments are typically utilized for smaller size shipments and have a door to door transit time of approx. 7-14 days, depending on the destination.
LCL (Less than Container Load): LCL shipments accommodate medium size shipments and are shipped in large wooden crate(s) or what are referred to as Lift Vans. The Lift Vans are shipped by Sea and brought to deconsolidation terminals at destination, where we arrange collection, customs clearance and delivery to your door. LCL shipments have a transit time or approx. 4-8 weeks, depending on the destination.
FCL (Full Container Load): FCL shipments accommodate larger size shipments and are most commonly shipped via 20’ or 40’ shipping containers (in some instances we ship 45’ containers). Containers are shipped by Sea and have a door to door transit times of approx. 4-8 weeks, depending on your destination. The containers are shipped Port to Port, where we arrange collection, customs clearance and delivery to your door.
Groupage Service: Groupage shipments is a term used to describe the consolidation of shipments with other shipments destined to the same country. It is a very cost effective and safe option for overseas moving. Groupage shipments are shipped by Sea and have door to transit times of approx. 6-12 weeks, depending on the destination.
Our staff arrives to your home with all the necessary materials and equipment to carry out services. Upon arrival, we will protect your property using floor runners and padding. We will then conduct a walk through to identify which items are to be moved. Prior to loading, our Staff Supervisor will generate a detailed inventory of your shipment. The inventory ensures all items are delivered to your new home but most importantly it is main component to the customs clearance portion of our services.
Our staff will disassemble items (typically beds and tables) that are deemed necessary to remove from your home and transport safely. Items that do not fit into cartons, such as large furniture items, will be wrapped for protection while in transit.
Once inventoried, your belongings will be loaded to best utilize the space on the truck and to ensure your shipment does not shift while in transit. Upon completion of the load, our driver will conduct a walk through to ensure all items have been included.
Focus Moving Services Inc will arrange door to door transportation to anywhere in the World!
Our office provides all necessary customs information and documentation; including a detailed inventory of your shipment, and consults you on how to complete the documents. We will also advise you on what you can and cannot ship into the destination country you are moving to. Once the documents are completed, our office will arrange customs clearance of your consignment on your behalf!
Upon arrival to your new home, our staff will again protect your property with floor runners and padding. We will conduct a walk through to identify the specific rooms in your home that your items are to be placed. Once the walk though is complete, our staff will commence the delivery with bringing your items into your home, verifying the inventory, placing them in the rooms that you specify and reassembling items that were dissembled by our staff at origin.
If Focus Moving Services Inc. provided any packing service of cartons we will arrange to have these items unpacked onto a flat surface and remove the debris materials.
